Given below are two statements:

Assertion (A): N2 is less reactive than P4.
Reason (R): Nitrogen has more electron gain enthalpy than phosphorus.

1. Both (A) and (R) are true and (R) is the correct explanation of (A).
2. Both (A) and (R) are true but (R) is not the correct explanation of (A).
3. (A) is true but (R) is false.
4. (A) is false but (R) is true.

Hint: N2 has a triple bond and P4 has a single bond
N2 is less reactive than P4 due to the high value of bond dissociation energy which is due to the presence of a triple bond
between two N-atoms of Nmolecule. But in P4 only a single bond is present.
Hence, Assertion is correct, but Reason is the wrong statement.
